Travel Insurance

When you have been diagnosed with a heart condition it can be very difficult and expensive to find travel insurance. Below is a list of insurers whom AF Association has found to be sympathetic to travellers who have a heart condition, alternatively download our travel insurance providers sheet. Inclusion on this list does not constitute approval from AF Association and any insurance provided is the responsibility of the individual concerned.

Ok To Travel. It is important that you have adequate travel insurance in place before you travel which covers your pre-existing medical conditions. Most standard travel insurance policies do not provide this type of cover. Ok To Travel specialise in covering pre-existing conditions and all medical conditions are considered, they also have no upper age limits. Top tip: Don’t forget to take your European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) when travelling in Europe.

An EHIC will enable you to access state-provided healthcare in European Economic Area (EEA) countries, at a reduced cost, or sometimes for free. It will cover your treatment until you return to the UK. It also covers treatment of pre-existing medical conditions however the card is not an alternative to travel insurance.
